The Customer
For years, NeoTel has been a successful specialist in fixed line telephony, operating as an outsourcing partner for large companies in the telecommunications industry. The telephony service of NeoTel offers cable TV providers a complete solution that includes: the connection of the cable-TV customers via the Internet to the public telephone network, operation of a VoIP telephony platform, end-customer pricing, end-customer billing, and invoicing.
The Challenge
For advanced telephony services, the customers of NeoTel (telecom companies) require specialised software that supports sending and recieving faxes via internet paths. Working with NeoTel, SPG developed a FAT-client development application, Virtual Fax Driver (VFD), that is a desktop application running on both Microsoft and Apple operating systems. VFD functions within the offices of NeoTel-supported telecom companies and is part of NeoTel’s overall service offering.
The Solution
VFD allows NeoTel customers to:
- send and receive faxes,
- forward faxes,
- monitor actions, and
- define and administer necessary installation and settings for receiving and
sending faxes via Internet.
